Hirota Glass was founded in Tokyo in 1899. It is one of the oldest glass manufacturers in Tokyo. Glass manufacturing, introduced from Europe in the modern age, has fused with the Japanese sense of beauty and developed a uniquely Japanese design. Hirota Glass has continued to produce products that harmonize with modern interiors by inheriting traditional handcrafted manufacturing techniques such as Edo faceting and blown glass, based on valuable design documents handed down in the company since its foundation.

The hail pattern refers to a design used in tetsubin(iron kettle) and other iron kettles in which large and small dots are neatly lined up. It is a pattern of simple beauty with grains lined up in rows, and has long been a favorite in Japan.

Arare is a pressed glass made in Japan that has been reworked to meet the needs of modern life. In the center of the sparkling grains is a design reminiscent of plum blossoms.
